How to take care of your dakimakura:

Turning the Pillowcase Inside Out

Before washing, always turn the pillowcase inside out. This helps protect the vibrant artwork and delicate fabric from potential damage during the cleaning process.

Use Bleach-Free Detergent

Choose a bleach-free detergent to preserve the colors and integrity of the fabric. Harsh chemicals can cause fading and damage over time.

Use Cold or Warm Water

Wash the pillowcase with cold or warm water, but ensure that the temperature does not exceed 40°C (104°F). Hot water can harm the fabric and the printed design.

Avoid Washing with Other Clothes

To prevent any potential friction or color transfer, it’s best to wash your dakimakura pillowcase separately from other laundry items.

Use a Washing Protection Bag

If you prefer machine washing, always use a washing protection bag specifically designed for delicate fabrics like Two Way Tricot and Two Way Tricot Plus. This extra layer of protection helps minimize the risk of snagging or pilling.

Avoid Direct Sunlight and High Humidity

After washing, avoid exposing the pillowcase to direct sunlight, as excessive sunlight can lead to fading. Additionally, store it in an area with low humidity to prevent any potential moisture damage.

Dry in a Cool, Ventilated Place

To ensure proper drying, lay the pillowcase flat in a cool and well-ventilated area. Avoid using a dryer, as the heat can damage the fabric.
